Syndicate Your Lottery Win

It is widely known now that the best way to increase your odds of winning a lottery prize is to play as part of a syndicate. A quarter of all the big lottery prizes are estimated to be won by syndications. As you probably already know a lotto syndicate is just a group of lottery players who use their combined money to buy a share multiple tickets. Being part of a syndicate therefore gives you multiple chances to win a prize for the same money you would normally use to play less tickets.

Obviously being a member of a lottery syndicate has major advantages. With multiple tickets bought, and thus multiple lottery entries, a player has a better chance of winning a prize than they would playing alone for much the same cost. With the extra stake money syndicates have they can also use wheeling systems, or other mathematical ways to improve their odds in the lottery, that require purchasing extra tickets.

Joining a syndicate does have some drawbacks though. Each syndicate member is entitled to a share of the prize fund and this can end up being very little depending on the size of the syndicate. All too often a syndicate's huge lottery win seems not so huge when it has to be divided among many syndicate members.

Then there are cases where a syndicate member has been unable to pay their weekly stake money, perhaps due to illness at work, only to discover the syndicate won a large prize but are unwilling to pay their share. This type of scenario has led to many court battles in the past and will undoubtedly do so again in the future.

Winning the lottery can also bring out the worst in certain people. With an informal lottery syndicate, which most are, being set up at work or among friends it is usual for one person to hold the tickets. It is not unusual for a greedy member of an informal syndicate to deny the syndicates existence or claim the winning ticket belongs solely to them in an attempt to dupe their fellow syndicate members.

Although it is possible to be unlucky enough to join such a lottery group most syndicates are run very fairly and the winnings are divided up evenly. And, playing in a syndicate is still the best way to improve your odds.

When you do join a syndicate make sure they are using lotto systems and not just guessing numbers however! Relying on pure random plays will not improve your odds much. However, employing a wheeling system, for example, can reduce your odds by millions to 1!
